The Gospel To Solwezi “Nations”

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. Matthew 24:14.

A testimony to all Solwezi, “nations,” (Nations -ethnos) or ethnic groupings or tribes.

For the gospel of Chris. 25 April Mbonge, Solwezi church service under a tree and sitting on logs to hear the gospel.

Sunday 25th April, my wife and I travelled to North Western, Zambia. A three and half hour trip in a little car. The car, thank God, made it despite frequently scraping the uneven ridged road (believing God for an all terrain, some day). Thankully, it’s dry season now so theres no mud.
Our mission was a pastoral visit on a thriving missionary church plant, more so, to console our Pastors widow, whose husband passed into glory. A great man, physically blind but tremendous visionary.

The ethnic language group, in NW Zambia, is predominantly Kaonde with some Luvale and Lunda. The spiritual atmosphere is there, is miracle ready. I speak none of the languages there. As such,  the Spirit enables communication in these lands more clearly through signs and wonders. For sure, this gospel is to be preached. And certainly, this gospel is designed to reach anyone anywhere.

Pastor Nsofu, praying for his leaders at Mbonge church in Solwezi.

On our visit, a tremendous dance and celebrational welcome puntuated by Kaonde melodius song “mwaiyai” (welcome) meet us. The stage was ready.
After welcome formality, I added a Chichewa song on Moses’ rod and preached on the same to firm the message.

In africa, music, even without instruments is  key in breaking barriers and bridging communication lapses.
There was no PA system, we stood on straw strewn, dirt floor. The pulpit was made of sticks fixed to the ground so I went around it.
I love the simplicity of the set up, though we can reach more with better facility. The plan is to make this a launch pad for missions to Congo,  Angola and other regions in North Western, Zambia.
We wish to return for a prolonged outreach. Believing God for a harvest  with signs and wonders. For now, it’s to honour the departed man of God.

I was keen to see the foundations laid for their meeting place. A water well and a secured plot.

We will greatly appreciate support and prayers for this church in Mbonge Solwezi. Perhaps, join an outreach there soon?

Your contribution no matter how small is appreciated. We want to send a gift book for any gift over $50.

Tribute to Pastor Record Jioma: A MIGHTY MAN IS FALLEN

Then the king said to his men, “Do you not realize that a commander and a great man has fallen in Israel this day? 2 Samuel 3:38

Today, 27th of March 2021, we put to rest, our Mbonge Solwezi church  Pastor, Record Jioma. A retired former Zambia National Broadcasting Cooperation (ZNBC) broadcaster at Kitwe studios. He was a husband, father and grandfather who was born in 1956 died and March 2021

Though physically blind, he succesfully pastored our Beth Adonai Fellowships, in Solwezi. He was my best, English to Kaonde interpreter who joyously, introduced me to Chief Mbonge as his Bishop. The chief in turn, welcomed us with open arms in his chiefdom, together with Zambia’s Olympic medalist, Samuel Matete and my Elder, Paul Sakuunda. We had lunch together, planned, talked on many topics and his dear wife, paid us a visit in Kitwe. We are still grateful for the gifts she brought us.
In his ministry, despite having no water, he was undeterred in vision. We were delighted to help in sinking the Ella Water Well, at the church plot in Mbonge.  The well, supplies clean water to the local community, the church fellowship and is named after the grandchild of a mission minded couple.

In the quoted scripture, David weeps over, Abner, the senior most soldier who served in Saul’s army (1 Samuel 14:50). His servants did not understand this. His reaction was like, “don’t you get it!!??”
I don’t expect many to understand me either over Pastor Jioma. However, Matthew Poole commentary, may give insight on the illustrious soldier, Abner, who once sat with the King Saul, David and Jonathan (1 Samuel 20:25). I feel a liberty to relate Abner to my Pastor, Jioma;

A great man, both for his illustrious quality, and for his high courage and wise conduct; and especially now for his great usefulness and serviceableness to me in giving me the entire and peaceable possession of all Israel. https://biblehub.com/commentaries/poole/2_samuel/3.htm

Our plans were to develop and growing the Mbonge village fellowship. We planned to build, we provide the roof after they did the bricks and foundations. We wanted to make the place, being on the outskirts of town, a youth friendly camp site. It was also to be a rural mission launching center for  Western Zambia. This was to latet be extended to Angola and Congo.  But this great soldier, was no more. Like David,  I am at loss, to figure this one out.
You had no physical sight but you saw more clearly as you seem to see with the eye of the  spirit. In deed you quipped, ‘I walk by faith not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7). Truely, now you see a better place where vision is never lost.
Man of God, we will miss your hard work, visionary, dedication and devotion to the fellowship. We  felt supported, surrounded and guided with you presence. Truly, a great man is fallen at Beth Adonai Fellowship.

May your God, our Lord, give us grace to carry your legacy. May your many children, physical and spiritual pick up your mantel.
We will commit to finish the church building. We will develop, the plot at Mbonge as the lord moves peoples hearts to join us and support this latter day mission.

When we meet in heaven, we will tell of the completed church you started, in Mbonge Solwezi. When anyone is called home, they will surely,  testify. When Jesus gets us all home; members,  friends and partners working on the mission you have left, we will celebrate.

For now, I say, rest in peace man of God. Rest in peace, my soldier Pastor Record Jioma, again rest in peace.

Rev Lubuto Nsofu

A Reason to Step Into Darkness

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned. Isaiah 9:2

My father like many, prayed for a son to carry his name. When I was born he named me Lubuto implying light. He assumed, light had come. Today, I carry the light of the gospel. Whether he saw the gospel part of me, I may never know.

Isaiah spoke these words to his generation. It applied to them but also, foretold the enlightening effects of the good news to future generations, as the word of God endures forever. The good news, cannot be more needed than today, in our modern pepsi light generation (In picture, I had with me a pepsi light, “just in case,” sorry coke). Pepsi light means, lower calories, that’s supposedly, the “good news to fizzy drinkers”

Since our Mpongwe trip, last Saturday,  the poor over burdened, bruised donkeys drawing a crudely made cart, stuck in a cow dug road, has not left my mind.

This year is 2021, supposedly the peak of human modernity. Sadly, it was like the dark ages, with donkey carts stuck in a cattle dung road.

We did help, lest we be numbered among the proverbial first century bible tax collector and religious leaders on the road to Jericho. The gesture, helped to make the gospel we carried, relevant to the locals. Yes, they opened up to us when we seem to meet their need.

At the back of our minds we yearn, to bring light to a forgotten 2021 generation still living in darkness.

For one, a child has been deprived (story, perhaps later a sensitive case). In the picture, stunted boys, catapults slung around the neck, bird hunter I assumed. He had no idea of school.

Here, fear reigns.  A nude wizard or witch falling from the sky in the dead of night is more believable (I am not making this up), than the tongues of fire of the Holy Spirit falling from heaven like a mighty wind.

The solution, is this light of the gospel we carry. This is futile grounds for the illuminating signs and wonders. Just a casting out of vexatious demons puts his agents on the back foot with fear and trembling.

On this narrow bridge, cow walked up to lick my outreached hand with its slimy gray tongue. I guess he said, “shalom!”

For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. Romans 8:19

the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay. Romans 8:21

My daughter and son behind me clung to each other apprehensively. One cow  lowered its head towards them. My thought, creation bows to royal authority.

Nearing the far end, the river flowed over the bridge. Unperturbed, two girls with buckets drew water for domestic use in this ankle deep cow dung polluted water. We could go no further. At this point we looked and decided to draw back. Hopefully, with prayer cover and support from friends, we will return even better equipped with an all terrain vehicle.

The gospel light fueled by the anointing of God’s oil, must be lit in our Pepsi generation, royal priesthood. We dare not have dimming light in the temple like Samuel’s mentor, Eli the priest. Eli enjoyed and probably indulged grew heavy obese and lost vision.

In our generation we have more rich pastors, elders than any time in history. Ironically, more of our population live in poverty, are war migrated and lost with vision.

Before we die to our indulgencies. Before the poor migrate to our door steps. Perhaps just perhaps covid, reached us from among the poor at a market? If we acted, could it have been stopped there? Let’s take this gospel to the source of issues, before the worst happens to us where we are.

For now at Mpongwe, a spiritual atmosphere has been assessed, reconnaissance done and its  not for the fait of heart. Will you go or help us to go? We will light up the darkness with the gospel of Christ by taking the battle to the gates of the enemy at all cost.

and your seed shall possess the gate of their enemies. Genesis 22:17

The Incredible Donkey in the Bible

Last saturday, March 20th 2021, we were in traditional land. This is, one and a half hours from Kitwe, in Mpongwe on the copperbelt. We were asked to attend to a new missions programe among locals by Bridget Ingram my ever bubbly, zealous spiritual daughter who is based in Kelowna Vancouver, Canada. I was told some people I ministered to, in the early 1980s, were serving the Lord in the area now.

The road, at one point was impassable by car. As such, we had to walk along muddy cattle tracks. Cattle dung was clear testimony of their use. I thought of the first Apostles, missionary pioneers. They took the gospel into dangerous hostile territories where no roads existed. While todays clergy enjoy  air conditioners, carpets, marbles floors  and luxury car rides. Here, we looked out for serpents and scorpions. At some point, you stop being skittish and a boldness arises.

There was no phone network and our phones became burdens themselves.
I appreciated God’s creation even more  as my son commented on the deep flora and fauna, green vegetation, sounds from the marshlands,  as we passed two herds of cattle.

The next thing moved my heart. It was a crude donkey cart stuck in the mud. They had pushed, pulled and swayed to no avail. The crude home made wooden yoke cut into the poor donkey’s skin. We stopped to help get them out of the mud, then I prayed for the farmer and his beasts.

As a teacher of the word, lessons came on me; Christ entry into Jerusalem riding one of these, Balaams donkey that saw an angel, Nehemiah the civil engineer inspecting Jerusalem wall riding this beast and, of course, Mary’s donkey that traveled to Bethlehem all came into my mind.

I imagined, how many missions have been accomplished on the back of this  incredible beast. My team of three, was happy to push shove until the donkeys got out of the mud we then laid our hands in prayer.

Our mission in Mpongwe is among cattle herders traditionalists and unsaved. We definitely need an off road vehicle.

Thank you. Your help makes these missions possible.

KITWE PRAYS

Zambia national day of prayer declared by government – 4-6th March 2021.

For close to an hour Lubuto Nsofu led city intercessors in prayer at the bustling Kitwe City Square.

In the process, we caught the curious hundreds on site and thousands by media. There was also the lost multitude  redirected and reigniting with fire then the backslidden, brought back to Abbas house.

Ministry Comments

The Lord has led us this year to speak to people with a different approach considering the restrictions. The beauty is, people are in tablets or smart phone. Therefore, we reach them using; Worship, Word and Way on a Face book.

It’s not strange, people stay home without visitors, shut up in fear and are lonely. Our aim is to reach out in familiar three ways;

1.   Worship– three crisp and short gospel tunes to ring in your heart all day. Posted every morning. A phrase from a popular song with an accompanying scriptural thought. Worship is the daily walk of a believer, posted of Facebook between 6am-9am Central African time (CAT). The post runs for 24 hrs and is refresh daily.

2.   Word– 30-minute scriptural word rich live post applied to a unique location. The live word post is at 5PM (CAT). This is a God sent idea, for those with missions and evangelistic mind-set. Like Christ taught as object lessons on location; e.g. at the Lazarus’s tomb, at Zacchaeus’ home, at alabaster box woman. People were reached, where they were.

3.   Way– Pastoral on Sunday providing guidance and a practical way to live for God. This is at 11am (CAT).

As a non-profit we depend on free will offerings and gifts. If you feel ministered to in anyway please leave an offering on our website. We will appreciate your offering and generous donations as the above activities to go on depend on your generous contributions.

Offerings can be made on our secure PayPal system using the four-major credit or debit cards; Visa MasterCard Discovery and American express. If you need a letter for tax purposes, we will gladly provide you with that after you make the donation.

Beth Adonai Instutute 2020 Graduation

Dearest friends and partners, thank you for your continued support, in the last number of years. You have been wonderful prayer, financial and moral pillars in the development of church leaders at Beth Adonai Institute. We cannot, thankyou enough.

As our 2020 graduation theme implies, on this 20th day, from the book of Acts 20:20 and 2 Timothy 2:15 ” Clear vision: Approved, a workerman, who should not be ashamed,” our vision is clearer as a teaching ministry. Today, we thankyou and welcome you to celebrate, our first student graduation. We are extremely delighted to see this day. Some of these graduating students, have already established their work in a short time, while others have crossed borders already to neighbouring countries with the gospel. Others, still, have joined our ministry ranks and serving God. We encourage you to periodically, look out for testimonies posted on our newly launched website, http://bethrohi.org/beth-adonai-institute.

Our prayer, is that you may continue to look to God to guide you further, as coworkers, in this African mission field. We pray for you also, that God may help you to partner with us with the next zealous group of students, in 2021 intake, just a few weeks from now. We definately need more labourers, in the harvest. When you consider that the Kingdom workforce has experienced manpower depleting upheavals over the past years. Thankfully as an update, we have more new students for 2021. Our ministry, being non-profit therefore, value your support in whatever way. You can make donations through paypal to our non for profit organisation at, http://bethrohi.org/donate Visa, Mastercard, American express and Discovery cards are all welcome. You can email us or call to let us know how you wish to stand with us. lubuto@hotmail.com +260955548307. God richly bless you.
